Your prompt

Medium two-shot, 40mm, of {{character-a}} and {{character-b}} standing close together in {{setting}}, both in frame from the waist up with a little space between them. The first character turns to face them mid-sentence, and the second holds their gaze, perfectly still, the silence between them doing the work. The camera creeps almost imperceptibly forward across the take, tightening the space around the pair. A single hard practical source sits high at camera left, carving both faces with strong directional modelling and leaving deep shadow on the far side; the background falls away into darkness with only a few points of light surviving. Desaturated colour with cool shadows, warm skin, true blacks, shallow focus on the speaker.
Audio: The first character turns and says: {{dialogue-line}}. Beneath it, close room tone and the environment continuing quietly around them. Aspect ratio: {{aspect-ratio}}.

How to use it

Only one character should speak in an 8s clip — two lines will not fit and sync degrades badly when Veo attempts both. Keep the spoken line under twenty words, with a colon and no quotation marks. Negative prompt (a Vertex AI parameter, written as plain nouns): subtitles, captions, text overlay, watermark, warped faces, extra limbs. For a full exchange, generate the reply as a separate shot with the framing reversed and cut the two together in your editor; that is also how it would be shot for real. That parameter is undocumented in the Gemini API, so if you are generating in the Gemini app or Flow you may have no negative field at all — in that case lean on the positive description alone.
